Best Selling Handrails | Our Most Ordered Stair Railings

The handrails our customers order most. These four cover the situations that come up again and again — short entry runs with nothing to mount to, and long wall-mounted staircases where the profile has to be right.

All are cut to your measurements in our Ventura, California shop and ship with brackets or base plates and all mounting hardware. Free shipping in the lower 48 on orders over $99, freight included. Orders under $99 are charged calculated shipping rates at checkout.

If you are not sure where to start

Do you have a wall alongside the stairs? If yes, a wall-mounted rail is simpler and less intrusive. If not — front entry steps usually have nothing to fix to — you need a free-standing rail that bolts into the step itself.

How many steps? One to three steps is entry-rail territory. Longer runs need a full-length wall-mounted rail with brackets spaced no more than 48 inches apart.

Indoors or exposed? Powder-coated steel handles ordinary weather. Direct coastal salt air needs 316 marine-grade stainless, which is the only finish that reliably resists pitting near the ocean.

Getting the size right

Measure nose to nose — the diagonal from the front edge of your top step to the front edge of your bottom step — then add 6 to 12 inches at each end so the rail extends past the first and last step.

Our length calculator works it out from your stair dimensions. If you would rather have us check it, send the numbers through our custom orders page and we will confirm before anything is cut.
