Aluminum vs Steel — the Honest Comparison

Choose aluminum if: the rail is fully exposed to weather, you are installing alone and want less weight to manage, or you simply never want to think about rust again.

Choose steel if: you want maximum rigidity. Steel is stiffer, so on very long spans it flexes less between brackets. With aluminum, keep bracket spacing tighter on long runs.
